Hunting New England Shipwrecks
Nova Scotia Dive Trip
Revised 3/15/04
Join our group of New England wreckhunters on a one-week Nova Scotia dive trip this summer. The water will be clear and cold, and the diving will be excellent! You'll make some new friends, explore some neat wrecks, and take home some wonderful memories. And best of all, thanks to Canada's monetary exchange rate, this trip will be a great vacation value. We did a similar trip last year and can't wait to go back again. Below are some details on the upcoming trip.
One week dive trip
Sunday August 22nd - Saturday August 28th (2004)
5 days of diving on wrecks around Cape Breton and Saint Paul Island
All participants must be experienced cold-water divers
C-card and logbook required
Dry suits are a plus, but not necessary
All diving will be in shallow and mid-depth water; this is not a tech diving trip
Trip organized by Dave Clancy, creator of Wreckhunter.net
Diving and accommodations arranged by Atlantic Dive Tours (of Nova Scotia) - visit their Saint Paul Island website at http://saintpaul.ca
All diving will be done from charter boats
Travel to Nova Scotia by land or sea (car ferries from Maine)
Bring along your car, truck or van
Share transportation and lodging with others in the group
Stay one night in a Halifax hotel
And stay 6 nights on Cape Breton Island
Explore Halifax and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic
Explore Cape Breton Island and the famous Cabot Trail
Take advantage of Canada's excellent monetary exchange rate - $1.00 US buys approximately $1.50 worth of goods and services in Canada
Bring your own dive gear - air fills and rental tanks are available
Non-divers are welcome to join the group
A ballpark estimate of the total cost of this trip (from Boston), including transportation, diving, lodging and food is $1,000 (US) per person. Part of this cost will be the charter boat accommodations package. The rest will be out-of-pocket expenses. This estimate asssumes that people will share transportation and hotel rooms. Everyone will be responsible for their own food costs.
A non-refundable deposit ($200.00 US) will be required to guarantee your reservations and charter boat accommodations
This trip is filling up fast, so act now or you'll miss out on a great opportunity
